Okay, it’s time for some real life- serious talk. Peyton still sleeps in our bed. It is the best thing in the world, but it also has its moments for being not-so-great. Like last night, when I woke up to feet in my ribs.. I thought that was only supposed to be during pregnancy!? Anyways… a couple of weeks ago, we bought Peyton this Serta SleepToGo Gel Foam Mattress and put it at the foot of our bed. Nothing fancy, not even any sheets yet, just sat the mattress there to see how it would go over. Lucky for us, she is really into it and sweetly refers to it as her “own bed”… totally ignoring the fact that she has an incredibly nice Pottery Barn crib in her room that she hates the sight of.
Every night, she starts out in her “own bed” and then somehow makes her way to our bed at some point in the night. But it’s a start, and i’ll take it. We wanted to see how she handled sleeping on her own before we committed to buying her “big girl bed.”
Our master plan is to do this until she sleeps through the night in it, then we will slowly start moving the mattress across the house, further and further away from us until it finally makes its way to her big girl bed in her own room! Today I am sharing all the options that we are exploring for her big girl bed. Let us know which one you like best!

Can you tell that I love the Jenny Lind style!? I am all for a sweet and cute bed that goes with her room theme, but Andrew on the other hand thinks that we should make this bed a FUN place for Peyton that she thinks is really cool and wants to sleep in. To be honest, we are leaning towards #7. Peyton’s friend has a similar house bed and Peyton thinks it is awesome. It is so wild to think that just two short years ago we were shopping for cribs and now we are sizing up to a toddler bed!!
