Another fun week in kindergarten I am excited to share about! Last week was Read Across America Week so we celebrated every day with a different book/spirit day!
Monday was Cat in the Hat day so we all wore hats and did these two fun activities:

Each student got a different pattern with colored strips they had to create that pattern with! They turned out so cute!

If you can read this, you’re probably a teacher haha! Let me help those who may be struggling… “The cat is going to wear this hat at the dance party.” They got to choose their hat template and color it however they wanted! They also had to write where their cat would wear this hat. They were so creative with this activity!
Tuesday we read Fox in Sox and it was wacky socks day!

The kids also loved this activity because they were able to create their own “magical” socks and write about it’s magical power!
Wednesday we read Oh the Places You’ll Go so we wore our favorite college gear (my personal fav).

This was my absolute FAVORITE craft we have done all year! The kids wrote on their paper what they wanted to be when they grow up and their answers were precious! This one says “I want to be a pediatrician”. Once they finished their writing they got to choose their tissue paper colors and create their balloon. I printed their pictures out to stick in the baskets and taped string to the back. This craft took ALL morning but was so worth it!
Thursday we read One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish so we wore rainbow colors!
I totally forgot to take pictures of what we did this day (sorry). We did some fun addition/subtraction activities with rainbow goldfish and of course they got to eat it once they were done 🙂
Friday we read Green Eggs and Ham and we wanted to wear PJ’s this day BUT it was spring picture day, haha. So we also read the book I Can Read with My Eyes Shut and we wore sunglasses (something easily removable).

These fun little treats were our “green eggs” for the day! I used the mint M&M’s and the kids surprisingly really liked them!
That sums up our exciting week in kindergarten! I can’t wait to share about our fun things planned for this week! Let me know if you have any questions in the comments below 🙂
