Back again this week with another crowd pleasing recipe for the holidays! This is my grandmother, “Mama Betty’s,” famous Chocolate Sheet Cake. She would make this for all occasions and almost every single grandchild’s birthday, every year.
Pro tip: Although the recipe says this cake goes in a 9 x 13 pan, she actually always made it in a 15 x 10 pan. I loved it this way because it was so thin. Don’t worry, it’s still just as good in a 9 x 13 pan, but just know that you have options!

A few years ago, one of my cousins gave the rest of the cousins this kitchen towel. Mama Betty had written the recipe down for her years ago and she had it made into a kitchen towel so that we could hang her actual handwriting in our kitchens to look at each and every day. This is one of my favorite gifts I have ever received and something I will cherish for years to come. I did some searching and found some great options for these kitchen towels on Etsy. This is my favorite style for the great price point. I am thinking about getting some of these made with Andrew’s grandmother’s recipes on them for his side of the family this year.
I hope that you can find somewhere to fit this into your holiday menus, or simply try it for your own family. I promise, it won’t disappoint. ESPECIALLY, when paired with some Blue Bell vanilla ice cream. 🙂
