Have you heard the new term “homegating”? It’s what everybody has affectionately dubbed tailgating at home and we are eating it up (literally). In today’s post we are sharing our spread from this past weekends #homegating party for Clemson’s season opener!
I feel like I can’t share this post without giving you a huge disclaimer, usually, we are on the road with our Tigers. But since COVID has turned the world upside down, we are taking advantage of this time at home and trying to make the best of it. So you may be getting lots of recipes now, but next season (hopefully) you can expect all the travel content when we make our way to all the cities that host the Clemson Tigers for football!

I have to start here because I am pretty proud of my little charcuterie board! This was my first ever attempt. But hey, didn’t we really all grow up eating charcuterie boards!? Back then we just called them snack trays! This board is really similar to the board I am using here. If you are local to Hendersonville, I picked this one up at Southern Chicks Market!
For our “main course” we did these super easy sandwich sliders! They LITERALLY take 15 minutes to make and provide a good hearty addition to your tailgate snacks. Added bonus- if you have leftovers, they are so easy to reheat and eat for lunch the next day!
This is a fan favorite at our house! Tiff’s cousin brought these up for Thanksgiving one year and we have been making them for every family event ever since. We love cooking these in batches because they are ten times better when hot. So do a sheet pan full, let those get about eaten up, then pop the rest in the oven! Disclaimer: They are addicting and every single one will be eaten. Don’t plan on leftovers.
My friend, Carly, shared this EASY recipe with me years ago! You can’t beat a 5-ingredient buffalo chicken dip. She always heated hers up in the oven, but I’m more of a crock pot girl so that it always stays warm, I am a total grazer when it comes to tailgate food!
Okay, okay- I know we have shared this recipe before, but it deserves an honorable mention in this post because it is just that good. On the left is a hamburger dip that I see someone got into before we were able to take all our pictures….
On the left we have an easy (have you noticed the reoccurring theme of “easy” here?) cowboy caviar dip that is seriously a bunch of cans of corn, tomatoes, and beans thrown together with zesty italian dressing and mixed up! The zesty italian really sets it off. And of course, we must end with desserts. This is Mimi’s Chocolate Chip Pound Cake that we have shared on here before! And to round it all out, some Clemson cookies! (Thanks Mary Catherine & Chase Cakes!)
I don’t do much cooking, but appetizers and desserts are kinda my thing. So prepare yourself for lots more #homegating content coming your way! Actually, I think we may get to go to the game this weekend! Any TAILGATING recipes you think we should try out? Drop them in the comments below!
