Edisto island City Guide

We took off for one more beach trip for the year with my family last week! We visited Edisto Island, SC. My dad is an avid golfer and was playing in a tournament on the island, so we all decided to crash!
This was our first time on Edisto and it is such a sweet (little) space! It is exactly four hours from our house, so not a bad drive at all! Once you reach the island, you pretty much stay because it would be a long drive to get back to any other town. So today I am sharing my favorites of what we did on the island, just in case you have a trip planned there too! Hope you enjoy!
DINING
The Waterfront Restaurant // This is where we ate when we first got into town on Tuesday night. They had some fantastic sides and are known for their prime rib, which of course Andrew got! They had a cute little gift shop inside too. I would venture to say that this was one of the dressier places on the island.
Seacow Eatery // Our favorite! We ate here for dinner on Wednesday night and it was so good that we went back for breakfast the next morning! Our waitress, Martha, makes homemade pies that the restaurant serves and they were TO. DIE. FOR. It is definitely that hole in the wall restaurant that pleasantly surprises you.
Coot’s Bar & Grill // Andrew and I visited Coot’s one rainy afternoon for a snack and a drink! It has the best view on the island and is a great place to just hang out and watch sports! They advertise that they are the only restaurant on the island with TVs! haha!

Ella & Ollie’s // Another fancy option! This is the newest restaurant on the island and is on the Wyndham property. I hear the Shrimp & Grits are the best!
Pressley’s at the Marina // We ate here on our last night and it is probably the premier seafood restaurant on the island. They offer combos of 2, 3, or even 4 different entree’s and it is A LOT of food!
I do want to add that there is only one VERY SMALL grocery store. It is a tiny Food Lion that really only carries the essentials. So if you need/want any specialty food, you may want to bring it from home!
ACTIVITIES
Beach Time // Obviously, the best thing to do on the island is visit the beach! Peyton absolutely loves the beach, but I am NOT a fan of sand. But she had so much fun!
Little Otter Outfitters // This sweet little kids shop just opened and has all kinds of things for kiddos! It is located right at Seacow. Peyton got some new waterproof shoes. They also had lots of Edisto gear!
Botany Bay Preserves Plantation // We drove out to Botany Bay on the rainy day that we had and it was a very cool experience. Once the site of two different plantations, not much still stands today but it is a haven for wild animals and still boasts beautiful land and crops. It is a driving tour, however, you can get out of your vehicle to look around and I would most definitely recommend taking the walk to the beach. It is completely undeveloped and is “how the settlers found the SC coast”!

1 Hour From Charleston // On our way into town we stopped by Charleston for the day. We ate in Mount Pleasant at Page’s Okra Grill and shopped on King Street! If you are staying in Edisto for the week, I would recommend making the drive up to Charleston for a day trip. If you have a rainy day where you can’t go to the beach, it is such an easy drive for a fun shopping day!
