Themed weeks are my favorite in kindergarten and this week was all about dinosaurs! Yes my boys LOVED it but surprisingly I think my girls loved it just as much too! I did a mini transformation to my room and turned each of their tables into jeeps! I even had them do a virtual ride on the ride “Dinosaur” in Disney so they would understand why they’re in jeeps, haha.

These were so simple and easy to make, I used black table clothes, pie pans and tin foil. The dinosaur feet laying on their tables are from Hobby Lobby linked here! I borrowed some large dinosaur figures to lay around in my library and around the room and the kids loved finding them and looking at them.

Each student got to make their own dinosaur fossil where they just stamped their mini dinosaur toy into play-doh, I took them home to bake and boom, dinosaur fossil! The original plan was to use salt and flour to make the dough, but it didn’t work out so we improvised and used play-doh and I think it worked just as well! They each got to write about their fossil and which type of dinosaur it belonged to. Their hats were a big hit and were so cute on.
This mini transformation was so simple but means so much to the kids! The look on their faces when they walked in Monday morning is what makes everything worth it! I cannot wait to share more transformations/themes that will be happening the last 2 months of school 🙂
If you have any questions please let me know! I am linking everything I used here on our Amazon Storefront under “Dinosaur Transformation” 🙂
