‘Tis the season for homemade gifts and all the toddler crafts! We got a jump start last weekend and made all of our holiday crafts for family and friends- with the help of “Tiffy” of course! And might I just say, thank goodness for Tiff- I am kind of a neat freak and probably couldn’t have handled the whole paint all over your daughters hands and let her go crazy kind of thing!
With all the great deals going on right now, I bought a 12 pack of these small canvas’ for like $10 at Hobby Lobby! We made as many of these Christmas trees as we could before Peyton’s attention span gave out. They are so easy and make the perfect addition to our built-ins!
First, we painted Peyton’s hands in green paint and stamped them three times onto the canvas to form the tree, once that dried, we went back in with red and blue on her fingertips to stamp the ornaments. I cut out the stars from yellow construction paper and glued them on top. Tiff painted the brown tree trunks. Last year, I saved her crafts for Christmas gifts but I gave all of these out on Thanksgiving Day so that everyone could decorate with them all season long!

For this next Christmas craft, we simply painted Peyton’s hand brown and stamped as many brown handprints as we could! Once they were dry, Tiff and I turned them into reindeer by adding a red nose, brown antlers, a black eye and black hooves all with a Sharpie! I cut out each handprint individually and backed it with brown construction paper. I also thought about laminating it using Tiff’s at-home laminator, but I think it looks more “homemade” without it laminated. Then I just did a one hole punch at the top and tied some ribbon!
I packaged these up in individual clear “treat bags” as I call them, and we have handed them out to all our family and friends!
Happy crafting!
