If you are local, you know that it is APPLE FESTIVAL WEEK!! If you’re not local, this is a festival that is held downtown Hendersonville, NC each Labor Day weekend. Most locals are deterred from the festival because parking is a disaster and it is SO hot and crowded. Not to mention we can visit these orchards all the time. I, however, LOVE the Apple Festival and think that it is an incredibly special celebration of our heritage.

To celebrate, our little family visited Grandad’s Apples this past weekend and picked up some delicious Ginger Gold apples (they were out of Honeycrisp for the moment but it is back for the festival)! We used those apples in this cookie recipe that I’m sharing below and then Peyton ate the rest of them…

Also, can we pause for a moment and all cry at these pictures of Peyton? Taken almost exactly a year apart!!
Anyways, we so enjoyed these cookies and I especially loved how easy they were. I am definitely here for a two-bowl cookie recipe. Very easy clean-up! If you visit the festival this weekend, we hope you pick up some apples and try it out!
